"HOLY SPIRIT, LET YOUR FIRE FALL UPON OUR HEARTS!" Over these past couple of days, I've felt renewed again. It's funny how God can use random things to ignite a yearning within us to desire Him more. I was just reading a passionate follower's blog the other night about his personal experience of miracles happening TODAY-NOW. Prophetic prayers being prayed, Christ's power being poured out, and people just falling to their knees AWESTRUCK of His MAJESTY... And then I remembered my own experience of God through someone's prophetic prayer for me and the reality of His LOVE and ADORATION has just left my heart longing for more of Him... I ended up listening to a sermon by Mike Bickle, a well-known pastor from IHOP (International House of Prayer) church that night, and this is what I took away from it... "How to Develop A Burning Heart" *Our hearts will be set on fire through Scripture. *John 5:35 - John the Baptist was a prime example of a heart set on fire. He was "the lamp that burned light". *I desire to be a burning lamp, a buring heart. But until I get the vision of a heart set on fire, I probably won't have one. There will come a time when you will realize that you cannot live without a burning heart. *This heart set on fire is a result of the ROMANCE of Christ and He communicates this LOVE through Scripture. A LOVE LETTER...the pursuit of the Groom (Christ) after His bride (us)... *The intimate knowledge of God will be the stability, the strength of the people of God. The greatest treasure I can give anyone will be the trembling Spirit of God. The greatest gift I can ever have is the trembling Spirit of the majesty of God. *Experience the POWER of TRUTH intimately. The written word is our direct connection to the Living Word. He will open the written word inside our hearts and it will be set on fire! *Don't put to sleep the hunger of your spirit by indulging in the world. *A sermon is like a fragrance of food when you are hungry. It will awaken you, but it will not satisfy your hunger. What will satisfy your hunger is when you truly understand and are transformed by the message and by your own intimate time with the Lord in Scripture, in Prayer, in Solitude. ...this makes so much sense because people always complain that they are not "fed" after a sermon... *I receive a "SPIRITUAL-HIGH" because I've just been assured that there's more...now what am I going to do about it? *The sparks in our hearts, a little here, a little there, and it'll amount to a burning heart inside of us. ANOTHER REALIZATION through a conversation this week about PRAYER... Many times we PRAY and the reason why some of our prayers haven't been answered yet is because WE PRAY SELFISHLY. We pray with SELFISH AMBITION. What a trip! SO TRUE... We must learn to pray from the depths of our hearts. To pray with feeling and passion for others and for ourselves to the best of God's interest! KWVE 107.9FM http://www.kwve.com/ listen for some crazy great sermons on your drive anywhere, especially to WORK!!! Today Pastor Chuck Smith was giving a message on CREATION!!! IT WAS SOOO GOOD!!! The Bible explains sooo much!! And things totally line up - like the Gap Theory, Ice Age, whatever science has to throw out today is old news. I always questioned Evolution...so my question to evolutionists today would be... If humans evolved from monkeys...THEN WHY ARE THERE STILL MONKEYS?!?!?! ::: RANDOMNESS ::: on a side note... One of my DREAMS is to be in Disney's FANTASMIC. Let me just say, I've never sighed more in my life, looked all googley eyed, gotten goosebumps all over, and felt SPEWING JOY all at the same time EVER in my life than in those 23 minutes!!! I know...you don't have to tell me, I'm crazy... |
